Liquor Worth Rs 10 Crore Sold During Holi In Assam

Guwahati: Assam sold an astounding Rs 10 crore 62 lakh worth of alcohol to celebrate the Holi festival on March 7 and 8. Alcohol sales totaling Rs 9 crore 58 lakh and Rs 1 crore 4 lakh, respectively, were reportedly made on March 7 and March 8, respectively.

People of all ages flocked to Guwahati’s always packed streets to celebrate the festival of colours, turning them into a sea of vibrant hues. Holi revellers made the most of the celebration by dousing each other in a variety of powdered colours despite the interaction of the sun and clouds.

The celebration, which is one of the most important Hindu holidays, was widely observed throughout the state. Many ages, particularly teens, participated in the festivities.

The on-duty officers checked troublemakers and kept a watch out for inebriated drivers to prevent mishaps. Traffic police personnel were deployed to prevent any mishaps.

Holi fans gathered in Guwahati’s Fancy Bazar to spray each other with brilliant colours while dancing to Holi tunes. Also, there was communal feasting, with mouthwatering treats available at vendors set up on the streets.

Guwahati’s Fancy Bazar had a massive gathering, and when the streets cleared, a trail of colour, fun, and memories was left in their wake. People are left with memories to treasure for the rest of their lives as the celebrations come to a close.
