Lok Sabha Elections 2024: 9.71 per cent voter turnout recorded till 9 am in Assam
Guwahati, 26th April: As of 9:00 AM, Assam records a 9.71% voter turnout, with Tangla constituency leading at 13.2%. Similar trends are observed in West Bengal (15.68%), Manipur (15.49%), and Chhattisgarh (15.42%). Tripura boasts the highest turnout at 16.65%, while Maharashtra lags at 7.45%.
However, Assam faces delays due to EVM malfunctions. Instances reported in Moirabari, Mangaldoi, Diphu, and Dhing caused disruptions, including delays in voting and breakdowns at polling booths No 293 (Moirabari), No 122 (Dhing), and No 110 (Diphu). Mangaldoi’s polling booth No 110 experienced a 25-minute delay due to a VVPAT machine fault.
