Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh swearing-in ceremony to be held on Dec 13
National Desk, 12th December: The oath-taking ceremony for the Chief Ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh is set to witness Mohan Yadav and Vishnu Deo Sai assuming office, along with their respective council of ministers is scheduled for December 13 (Wednesday), as per reports.
Mohan Yadav, a three-time MLA from Ujjain South assembly seat and a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, was officially declared as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh on Monday. Having first become an MLA in 2013 from Ujjain South, he secured re-election in 2018 and recently claimed his third term in 2023.
In Chhattisgarh, Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chief Minister designate, will be sworn in at Raipur. A seasoned politician and former Union Minister, Sai emerged as a surprise choice after a week-long suspense regarding the chief ministerial post in the state. His designation was officially announced on Sunday following a crucial meeting of the BJP’s 54 newly elected MLAs in Raipur. Vishnu Deo Sai secured victory in the recent elections from the Kunkuri assembly seat with a substantial lead of 87,604 votes.
