Madhya Pradesh: Man held for Posing as Minister’s kin and Abusing Cops
Guwahati: A man posing as the nephew of a Madhya Pradesh Minister intimidated and harassed police officers who tried to stop loud music from being played at a wedding ceremony here, a senior officer said on Wednesday.
Some videos later surfaced on social media in which the man, identified as Udayraj Singh Sisodia, allegedly harassed police officers while claiming to be the nephew of MP Panchayat Minister Mahendra Singh Sisodia.
According to Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sharma, the minister called him on the phone and denied any connection to the accused.
The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday when head constable Suresh Mewade and two other officers went to a wedding garden in Pachor town of the district to prohibit loud DJ music from being played, Sharma said.
Sharma further added that the accused allegedly abused and threatened the officers and prevented them from executing their jobs.
However, a FIR was filed against Udayraj Singh Sisodia and the DJ owner on Tuesday, citing relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the MP Kolahal Niyantran Adhiniyam (a noise pollution control act).
It may be mentioned that the accused delivered a video message after the clips went popular on social media, apologising for his actions.
