Madhya Pradesh: Rats “Arrested” for Alleged Booze Theft
National Desk, 8th November: In an unusual turn of events, police in Madhya Pradesh have purportedly “arrested” a rat. This peculiar incident unfolded at Chhindwara’s Kotwali police station, where rats are accused of consuming the alcohol stored at the station. The case came to light when approximately 60 bottles of alcohol mysteriously disappeared from the police station.
While the rats remain accused, the truth of their involvement is still under investigation, and no official confirmation has been made regarding their actual consumption of the liquor.
One rat has been “apprehended,” but others are allegedly on the run. It’s worth noting that the liquor involved was already seized and illegal. According to officials, the situation is more serious than a few rats potentially consuming the alcohol.
Pressure is mounting on the police, as the case involving the seized liquor bottles is pending in court. As court proceedings approach, the police must find ways to explain the situation to the judge and account for the missing bottles. This curious incident is not unique to the Kotwali police station, as rats have been causing havoc in other government offices, including the district hospital, collectorate, and education department. Reports of rats damaging important documents and even occasionally disturbing dead bodies have been a recurring issue in these offices.
