Magnitude 5.6 Earthquake Strikes Tripura

Northeast Desk, 2nd December: Powerful tremors rattled Northeastern states as an earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale hit Tripura at around 9 am. The seismic activity extended its impact to other parts of the neighboring states, with the epicenter located in Bangladesh at a depth of 55 km, according to the National Centre for Seismology.

Tripura, situated in Seismic Zone-IV, is categorized as having a very high risk of vulnerability to earthquakes, heightening concerns about the impact of such seismic events in the region.
