Maha Cabinet Expansion Tomorrow, 14 New Ministers to be Inducted

Guwahati: The Maharashtra cabinet will be expanded on Tuesday (August 9) and at least to 14 ministers may take their oaths, one from each of the state’s four regions.

According to reports, senior BJP figures Sudhir Mungantiwar, Chandrakant Patil, and Girish Mahajan are likely to be appointed as new ministers.

From the Shinde faction, Gulab Raghunath Patil, Sada Sarvankar and Deepak Vasant Kesarkar are likely to take oath tomorrow.

Shiv Sena MLA Shinde and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis were sworn in as chief minister and deputy chief minister respectively on June 30 after the resignation of Uddhav Thackeray due to a rebellion in the Sena ranks.

The pair has served as a two-member cabinet since then drawing criticism from the opposition.

In recent months, Fadnavis and Shinde made several trips to Delhi to discuss the topic of cabinet expansion.

The state government’s operations have not been impacted in any way by the delay in the council of ministers’ enlargement, according to Shinde, who also stated that more ministers will be appointed soon.
