Maha CM Eknath Shinde Wins Trust Vote
Guwahati: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde prevails in the state legislative assembly’s vote of confidence by a score of 164 to 99, with 3 members abstaining.
99 votes were cast against the new government, while 164 people voted for Shinde.
In a speech to the Assembly, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis praised CM Shinde for winning the floor test with a sizable majority and noted that Shinde is a devoted Shiv Sainik. He claimed that the man adhered to Balasaheb Thackeray’s philosophy.

I also appreciate everyone who avoided the House and so indirectly supported the BJP-Shinde coalition “In his remarks, Fadnavis singled out Congress lawmakers Zeeshan Siddique, Vijay Wadettiwar, and Ashok Chavan for not taking the floor test.
Just prior to the trust vote, Santosh Bangar and Shyamsundar Shinde, two Uddhav Thackeray faction MLAs, switched allegiances.
Rahul Narvekar of the BJP was chosen as Speaker of the Maharashtra Assembly on the first day of the extraordinary assembly session. Rajan Salvi of the Shiv Sena, who received 107 votes, was defeated by Narvekar, who received 164 votes. Since Nana Patole of the Congress resigned in February of last year, the speaker’s position has been empty.
