Maha Crisis: Shiv Sena Ready to Exit MVA If Rebels MLAs, Says Sanjay Raut
Guwahati: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut stated on Thursday that the party is prepared to leave the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) administration if the dissident MLAs camped in Guwahati return to Mumbai and discuss the matter with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. This comes amid a deteriorating political situation in Maharashtra.
42 Sena MLAs are currently camped out with former Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde, which has put the party-led state government in a precarious situation. The Uddhav Thackeray-led administration is divided between the NCP and the Congress.
“You claim to be true Shiv Sainiks and that you won’t leave the party. If you return to Mumbai within 24 hours and raise the matter with the city’s chief minister, Uddhav Thackeray, we would take into consideration your request. Your request will be taken into consideration. Don’t send letters via WhatsApp and Twitter, Raut told reporters.
“The rebels who have fled Mumbai have brought up the subject of Hindu nationalism. Show guts to return to Mumbai if all of these MLAs believe Shiv Sena should leave the MVA. You claim to be genuine Shiv Sainiks and to just have problems with the government. We’ll take into account your request. But visit Uddhav Thackeray and talk to him,” he added.
After declaring his intention to resign on Wednesday, CM Thackeray later moved out of the official CM residence in South Mumbai and into his family’s Bandra home, “Matoshree.”
