Maharashtra Pol Crisis: 3 More MLAs Join Shinde’s Camp in Guwahati
Guwahati: Three more Shiv Sena MLAs joined the rebel group of MLAs headed by Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde on Thursday morning in Guwahati.
As a result, the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra is now experiencing greater political instability.
Currently, every MLA is residing in Guwahati of Assam’s Radisson Blu Hotel. Shinde joined in Guwahati last night by four other MLAs. With this, seven additional MLAs have defected to the rebels in the previous twenty-four hours.
Additionally, a resolution signed by 34 MLAs and passed by the Shiv Sena Legislative Party declaring that rebel leader Eknath Shinde remains in charge has been delivered to the state’s governor, Bhagat Singh Koshyari.
The resolution, which was approved on Tuesday, stated that Eknath Shinde was unanimously chosen to lead the Shiv Sena Legislative Party in 2019 and will continue to do so. It stated that Bharat Gogawale has been chosen to serve as the party’s Chief Whip. Shiv Sena had Eknath Shinde ousted as the party’s legislative party leader after the political turmoil. The resolution, however, is a response from the rebels.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and his family left their official mansion, “Varsha,” on Wednesday after he announced his willingness to resign if dissident MLAs made such a demand and returned to Mumbai.
