Main Accused of Fancy Bazar Murder Case Brought To Guwahati From Bengal

Guwahati: The main suspect in a shocking murder case that occurred in the Fancy Bazar area of Guwahati was brought to the Pan Bazar Police Station on Monday.

According to reports, the main suspect Faizuddin was travelling from West Bengal to Guwahati today after the police team sent to arrest him was given a transit remand.

The case involves the murder of a woman whose body was discovered on January 25 in a hotel room in Guwahati’s Fancy Bazar. According to early reports, the woman was the spouse of the person who vanished after the incident.

In a shocking change of events, it was later discovered that the woman who was found dead in a Guwahati hotel was not the real wife.

The discovery of a woman’s death earlier that day in a Hotel Rajhans room in Guwahati’s Fancy Bazar district surprised both the police and hotel workers. Initial reports suggested that the woman and her missing husband who had been staying at the hotel since the incident came to light had both been there.

The missing husband was quickly identified as the main suspect in connection with the case. It was quickly determined though that he was not the woman’s spouse.

The culprit was identified by authorities as Faizuddin after a preliminary inquiry. His family members were questioned regarding his whereabouts, and it turned out that the deceased woman was not his wife.

According to rumours, Faizuddin’s real wife is currently in the Goalpara area of Assam near Boro Pahar. Her name was given as Aasma Begum. According to the police, Faizuddin’s brother revealed this.

Taznima Khatum, the victim whose body was discovered in the hotel room had no known residence, according to authorities.

Additionally, authorities claimed that they discovered the victim’s body with one end of a blanket put in her mouth. Her head was covered with the remaining portion of the blanket. Strangulation marks were also discovered on her neck.

Officials stated that the death appeared to have been caused by asphyxiation at first glance, adding that it appeared that she had been strangled and that her mouth had been stuffed in order to prevent her from screaming for help.

In addition, officials reported that they had only found the woman’s flip flops in the room.

It should be emphasised that the incident gained attention after hotel staff found the woman’s dead body. The woman had been a guest at the hotel since January 14 and had previously scarcely left her room, they said.

The hotel staff decided to go inside the room because it had been entirely closed since the previous day which led to suspicion. The body of the woman was discovered when the room was unlocked using the master key. As soon as police learned about the situation, they started an inquiry. They managed to track down and capture the primary West Bengal suspect within a week.

Officials stated that additional legal action will be taken against the offender in accordance with the law.
