Major cattle smuggling bid foiled, 34 animals rescued in Assam’s Kaliabor
Guwahati: Assam police countered cattle smuggling at Kaliabor district in Nagaon on Monday night.
As per reports, a truck that was intercepted near Bagori in Kaliabor contained a total of 34 cow heads and the truck was en route from Bokakhat to Meghalaya.
Reportedly, the truck’s driver identified as Saddam Hussain was detained in connection with the raid and additionally research is being done.
Moreover, in Assam’s Bongaigaon district’s Manikpur’s Jamdaha last week, 15 cattle heads were found and they were apprehended with the aid of the Gou Suraksha Maha Sangha Bongaigaon Committee.
However, the Gerukabari Police Station in Manikpur afterwards received the seized cow heads.
