Major Drug Bust on Rajdhani Express at Guwahati Station

Guwahati: Guwahati Railway Police have successfully intercepted a significant consignment of suspected cannabis, weighing approximately 22.5 kilograms, during a meticulous search operation conducted today, May 12th, on the New Delhi Rajdhani Express at the Guwahati Railway Station.

The operation unfolded within the confines of Coach No. B4 of Train No. 12423 DN, where vigilant officers discovered twenty packets containing the illicit substance.

Swift action, fueled by credible intelligence, led to the apprehension of two individuals identified as Rohit Kumar Mishra and Manish Yadav, both hailing from the Buxar district of Bihar, who were found to be in possession of the contraband.

Authorities have confirmed the preliminary suspicion that the seized material is cannabis and have dispatched it for rigorous forensic analysis. In the wake of this significant seizure, legal proceedings have been formally initiated against the arrested individuals under the pertinent provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
