Major Heroin Seizure in Tripura’s Unakoti District, Three Arrested
Northeast Desk, 30th August: In a joint operation carried out by the Assam Rifles and the Tripura Police, a substantial amount of heroin valued at Rs 2.5 crores has been confiscated, leading to the apprehension of three individuals. The operation unfolded in Tripura’s Unakoti district and the details emerged on Wednesday.
As per an official statement from the Assam Rifles, the operation was meticulously executed based on specific intelligence. It took place in the Kumarhat area of Unakoti district during the night of Tuesday.
During the search, authorities successfully seized 551 grams of brown sugar, equating to 50 cases, from a vehicle.
