Man Arrested for Kicking PM Modi’s Picture in Assam’s Karimganj District
Guwahati, 11th June: In a controversial incident in Assam’s Karimganj district, a man has been arrested for allegedly kicking a picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The individual, identified as Raju Rajkumar, is a former member of the Patharkandi Zila Parishad.
According to sources, the incident occurred during preparations for a procession by BJP workers celebrating the victory of MP Kripanath Mallah in the Lok Sabha election. Rajkumar reportedly disrupted the rally by first turning off the sound system and then kicking a picture of Prime Minister Modi. He further escalated the situation by assaulting a BJP worker before fleeing the scene.
A case was promptly registered, leading to Rajkumar’s arrest. He was produced before the court, which ordered his detention. Police records reveal that Rajkumar has multiple prior cases, primarily involving physical altercations.
