Guwahati: Chennai customs officers arrested a traveller carrying five unique, exotic animals.
According to reports, the traveller attempted to conceal the animals within his checked luggage after arriving from Bangkok on October 23.
Five Dwarf and Common Spotted Cuscus are among the creatures. They were found at the airport’s baggage check.
The passenger was then detained after the recovery, and the animals were returned to Thailand for rehabilitation.
Animal smuggling has become more common across borders in recent months.
Even kangaroos were reportedly being brought into India illegally.
