Man Dies After Falling Into Oil Pit in Assam
Guwahati: A man died after falling into an oil pit in Assam’s Tinsukia district on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Raghunath Chetry who was a resident of Sundar Nagar in Makum.
The incident took place at Lachit Nagar in Makum region.
According to reports, Chetry was working as a security guard in a private company.
Reportedly, the accident took place when Ragunath was returning from his work, while he allegedly slipped and fell into a dug pit.
However, locals have asserted that Oil India is responsible for the big potholes that have been left in the area.
Following the incident, locals staged a massive protest in front of Oil India Company.
