Guwahati: A man was found dead under mysterious circumstances near Bibash Lodge in Guwahati’s Supermarket locality on Thursday morning, triggering concern among residents and prompting a police investigation. The lodge, situated close to the Gauhati Neurological Research Centre (GNRC), became the focal point of activity as law enforcement responded to the scene.
Preliminary information indicates that the deceased had recently arrived in the city with his wife and mother for medical treatment. The family was staying at the lodge, occupying Room No. 4, when the incident occurred. According to local sources, the man stepped out of the lodge early in the morning, only for his lifeless body to be discovered shortly afterward near the roadside.
Police were alerted and quickly arrived at the location to secure the area and begin their investigation. While the identity of the deceased has not been officially disclosed, authorities have confirmed that an inquiry is underway to determine the exact cause of death. Investigators are currently examining all possible angles, including underlying medical conditions, the possibility of foul play, and other contributing factors.
