Man From Bihar Arrested In Assam With Fake Gold
Guwahati: On Monday, one person from Bihar was detained in Guwahati’s downtown area on suspicion of possessing a piece of “fake gold.”
Police said that the arrest was conducted as a result of confidential information that East Guwahati Police obtained from a trustworthy source. Shyam Kumar, a resident of the Bihar district of Madhubani, has been identified as the individual who was detained.
A case was filed in the meantime against the suspect Shyam Kumar. In addition, a hammer, a chisel, and one mobile phone were found in his hands by police.
Police officials stated that the situation is still being investigated.
Assam police stopped a smuggling attempt earlier on Saturday and extricated 34 livestock heads from a bus in the Nagaon district.
Police set up a Naka checkpoint after receiving information that animals were being trafficked close to the Kaliabor area. 34 cattle heads were discovered by police after stopping a car in the Missa neighbourhood close to Kaliabor. The driver and others managed to flee the scene, though.
“Based on secret information, we had set up a Naka checking in front of Missa police outpost and intercepted a vehicle. After seeing our team, the driver of the bus and other persons fled from the area. During checking, we found 34 cattle heads inside the bus. The bus was coming from Jakhalabandha side towards Meghalaya,” a police official said.
