Assam, 2nd September: Tragedy struck in Subankhata area of Baksa, Assam, when two individuals ventured into a field and encountered a wild elephant. The elephant attack resulted in the death of one person, identified as Haren Boro. In a bid to escape the charging elephant, the other person, Kalpajyoti Das, jumped into a nearby river and tragically lost his life.
Upon receiving the report of the incident, forest department officials and the police promptly arrived at the scene to recover the bodies and address the situation.
