Guwahati: A youth from Guwahati have been threatened by miscreants in order to extort money from him.
According to reports, the man identified as Shyamal Sutradhar was threatened by accused Mintu Ali and Anup Deka.
It has come to fore that both of them were told by Dhiraj Deka to intimidate the victim and extort money from him.
The Crime Branch arrested Dhiraj Deka. He obtained money by using a false identity to obtain insurance in the place of a deceased person.
Dhiraj suspected Shyamal of filing complaint against him, for which he asked Mintu and Anup to threaten him to shoot and extort the money.
The victim then filed a complaint in the Dispur Police station.
Shyam Sutradhar has also spoken with the police commissioner.
