Man trampled to death by deer in Baksa

Guwahati: An elderly man was trampled to death by a deer in the Baksa district of Assam.

The incident took place at Jala gaon village of the district.

The person has been identified as Birsa Kharia aged around 75 was allegedly attacked by the deer by entering his house.

According to reports, the deer created panic amongst the people of the village in Baksa for many days. The deer came in search of food from Manas National Park.

It may be noted that the deer took shelter in a lodge named Florikan lodge and following the incident, the forest department later tranquilized the deer.

It may be mentioned that the deer will be released in the jungles of Manas National Park by the forest officials.
