Guwahati: In a tragic incident, a man was allegedly killed after he was hit by a speeding train in Azara of Guwahati on Sunday.
The man allegedly tried to cross the crossing illegally Even though the gates were closed.
The man tried to cross the tracks despite the approaching train, as seen on CCTV footage of the incident.
The incident site accurately was reported to be the Ranigate crossing of Azara.
He was hit by the train Dibrugarh Weekly Express (no 13282).
“The unidentified man attempted to cross the level crossing unlawfully, and train number 13282 ran over him,” the CPRO of NF Railway said.
He was immediately killed following the impact, despite the quick rescue attempts.
An investigation into the matter is being carried out.
