Guwahati: The primary accused involved in the Meghdoot Bhawan Burglary case has been arrested on Thursday by a police team of West Guwahati Police Department (WGPD) on a tip off from the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) West sources.
The accused has been identified Dilip Saikia is a resident of West Saukuchi area of Guwahati.
According to reports, the accused will be handed over to the Central Guwahati Police Department.
However, further investigation is underway on the matter to catch the others involved as the CCTV camera revealed the involvement of more people in the burglary.
It may be mentioned that on January 29, unidentified individuals looted the Meghdoot Bhawan (Guwahati GPO) and fled with Rs 3 lakh in the midnight.
