Manas National Park to Remain Close For Tourist From May 15
Assam, 9 May: Manas National Park will remain close to tourists from May 15.The elephant safari will also remain close across Assam as soon as the month of May begins. Manas National Park, a World Heritage Site, a land of nature will be closed for tourists. This was disclosed by the regional director of the national park Vaibhav C Mathur in a notification.
Elephant safari and river rafting at the national park from May 15 and jeep safaris are closed from June 5. Baibhav C Mathur, the regional director of the national park, says the Manas National Park has been closed to tourists during this time like every year. In view of the environmental situation, it has been decided to stop river rafting from May 15 as the water level in the Banki river differs due to the arrival of monsoon. Also, elephant safaris are closed across Assam as soon as the month of May begins. But with the completion of two years of the Assam government, the Manas National Park has been extended by a few days and it has been decided to close the elephant safari from May 15.
On the other hand, due to the high grass in the national park during the monsoon and some problems in the roads the jeep safari will be closed on June 5 like the past years. It may be recalled that the national park will be reopened for tourists after almost three months, said Vaibhav C Mathur field director of the Manas Tiger Project.
