Manipur: 12 Militants Arrested by security forces in Separate Operations
Imphal: In a series of successful operations, Manipur security forces have arrested 12 militants belonging to different proscribed groups.
On March 11, seven active members of the Kangleipak Communist Party (PWG) were arrested from a farmhouse in Tera Urak, Imphal West district.
The arrested individuals, identified as Pebam Bishorjit Singh, Keisham Bishorjit Singh, Warepam Premananda Singh, Yambem Shital Singh, WM Arif Khan, Wahengbam Momocha Meitei, and Loitongbam Hemba Singh, were found with pistols, rifles, ammunition, and other incriminating items.
In a separate operation on the same day, two KCP (PWG) cadres, Khongbamtabam Nanao Meitei and Kshetrimayum Roshan Singh, were arrested from Khurai Chingangbam Leikai in Imphal East. They were found with mobile phones and wallets.
Additionally, one active member of the Kanglei Yaol Kanna Lup (KYKL), Konjengbam Ibotomcha Meitei, was arrested from Sanjembam Khullen Village in Imphal East district. He was involved in extortion activities and was found with AK rifle ammunitions, a mobile phone, and a wallet.
On March 10, security forces arrested one cadre of the KCP (Taibanganba) group, Maibam Virendrakumar Singh, from Wabagai Makha Leikai in Kakching district. He was involved in extortion and was found with a mobile handset.
Furthermore, one cadre of the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK Pro), Laishram Tomba, was arrested from Wangoo Chairel Leingangtabi area in Bishnupur. He was involved in extortion and was found with cash and a mobile phone.
