Manipur: Armed Miscreants Attack Village Volunteers in Imphal East

Northeast Desk, 13th February: Armed miscreants on February 13 launched an attack in Manipur’s Imphal East district, resulting in injuries to three village volunteers. The gunfight ensued at Khamenlok and Shantipur areas under Imphal East, with the injured volunteers receiving treatment at a hospital.

Security forces are actively working to stabilize the situation. However, skirmishes and firings continue intermittently in the peripheral areas between Imphal East and the hill district of Kangpokpi, indicating ongoing tensions in Manipur.

The clashes involve armed miscreants from both sides, leading to multiple casualties since January this year. The situation remains volatile, underscoring the need for continued vigilance and efforts to restore peace in the region.
