Manipur: Assam Rifles Commemorates International Day for Rural Women with Empowering Initiatives
Imphal: In a heartfelt tribute to the International Day for Rural Women, Assam Rifles organized a series of impactful events aimed at empowering women in the Ukhrul and Kamjong districts. These initiatives provided a valuable platform for rural women to voice their challenges, celebrate their achievements, and enhance their skill development.
As part of its commitment to community welfare, Assam Rifles collaborated with civil administration to organize a medical camp at Joupi Aided Pre-Primary School in Chandel District. The camp aimed to provide essential healthcare services to the local population, particularly focusing on remote areas with limited access to medical facilities. Residents received free medical consultations and treatments, addressing critical healthcare gaps in the region.
In addition, Assam Rifles hosted an Ex-Servicemen (ESM) meet at L Koirang in Imphal West District. This event focused on the concerns and welfare needs of veterans, creating a space for ex-servicemen to connect, share their experiences, and engage in camaraderie-building activities. The Assam Rifles reiterated its commitment to supporting the welfare of its retired personnel during the gathering.
On the same day, in response to the rising threat of dengue fever, Assam Rifles conducted an anti-mosquito fogging operation in Oinam Village and the IDP Camp in Bishnupur District. This timely initiative aimed to protect the health of the local populace by curbing the spread of mosquito-borne diseases, particularly in light of increasing dengue cases in the region.
Through these multifaceted initiatives, Assam Rifles has demonstrated its ongoing dedication to community service and the well-being of the people in these districts.
