Manipur: Assam Rifles Rescue Stranded Family in Jiribam Amid Rising Tensions

Northeast Desk, 10th June: The Assam Rifles, tasked with internal security duties in Manipur’s Jiribam district, responded to a distress call on June 9, rescuing a family from Leisabithol village after their home was torched by unknown miscreants.

The incident involved a couple and their two children, left stranded and vulnerable following the attack. The Assam Rifles, returning from a patrol in BoroBekra, swiftly evacuated the family from the village. During the return journey, their vehicles were halted near Uchathol village by a group of women seeking information about the rescued family.

In a swift response, the Assam Rifles coordinated with local police officials to manage the situation. The Jiribam police soon arrived and handled the gathering, ensuring a peaceful resolution.

Assuring the local populace, the Assam Rifles urged the community to maintain trust and prevent future miscommunications. The rescued family was safely relocated to Bidyanagar Sports Stadium in Jiribam, where they received necessary relief and support.

This operation underscores the Assam Rifles’ commitment to maintaining security and providing immediate assistance to those affected by violence in the region.
