The operation targeted the Haopi Mollen Hill range in Churachandpur district, resulting in the destruction of approximately 4.8 acres of illegal poppy cultivation.

The action, carried out under the jurisdiction of Sangaikot Police Station, also led to the seizure of six poppy pods.

Authorities have registered an FIR and are actively working to identify those behind the cultivation, signaling a robust stance against illicit activities in the region.

Simultaneously, security forces intensified their vigilance in vulnerable regions of Manipur’s hill and valley districts through extensive search and area domination activities.

In one such operation in Salam Patong village, under Nongpok Sekmai Police Station in Thoubal district, a significant cache of arms and equipment was recovered. The haul included a 9mm CMG magazine, four 36 HE hand grenades, 27 live rounds of ammunition, and 117 empty cartridge cases.
