Manipur: Bomb Blast Outside Imphal School

Guwahati: An explosion triggered by an improvised explosive device (IED) in Imphal city of Manipur in the wee hours on Sunday.

The blast took place at around 3 in the morning.

Reportedly, a school in the capital city was the target of the bomb blast.

The explosion was heard outside the Little Flower school’s main gate.

The incident resulted in no injuries or fatalities; nonetheless, the blast severely destroyed the gate.

Window panes and other parts of the school building were also damaged.

Meanwhile, police and bomb specialists arrived on the scene to investigate the situation.

No one has claimed responsibility for the bombing until the publication of this report.

Despite the fact that bombings occur virtually every week in the state, this is the first time a popular missionary school has been targeted.

Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren convened a Cabinet meeting to discuss the increasing number of bomb incidents across the state on Saturday. It was not disclosed what remedial measures were suggested.
