Manipur-Bound Opium Consignment Busted in Kohima
Kohima: In a significant breakthrough, security forces in Nagaland have apprehended an individual and seized a substantial quantity of suspected opium, weighing over 14 kilograms, in the Sechu Zubza area of Kohima. The arrest and recovery took place during a routine search operation that targeted a vehicle travelling from Manipur.
Personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), acting in close coordination with the Nagaland Police, intercepted the vehicle and, upon searching it, discovered 14.31 kg of the suspected illicit substance. Officials confirmed that the drug was meticulously concealed within the luggage of the arrested person.
The individual taken into custody hails from Ludhiana, Punjab. Following the apprehension, both the recovered contraband and the accused have been handed over to the local police station in Kohima. Further legal proceedings have been initiated, and an investigation into the matter is actively underway to unearth the wider network involved in this illicit drug trade.
