Manipur Cabinet Approves Increase in Allowance for Police Commando and State Forces

Northeast Desk, 9th February: In a significant move aimed at boosting the morale of security personnel, the Manipur Cabinet has sanctioned a raise in allowance for the Manipur Police Commando and other state forces stationed in vulnerable areas. Effective immediately, the allowance for the Manipur Police Commando will witness a substantial increase of Rs 5000, while other state forces deployed in vulnerable zones will receive a hike of Rs 3000.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh took to social media to announce this pivotal decision, highlighting the government’s commitment to supporting and empowering law enforcement personnel. The increased allowances serve as recognition of the dedication and sacrifices made by these brave individuals in safeguarding the state and its citizens.

Earlier today, the state cabinet convened at the cabinet hall to deliberate on various pressing issues. Chief Minister N Biren Singh also chaired a crucial meeting at the state Secretariat, focusing on devising renewed strategies to tackle the menace of drug cultivation head-on. Attended by key stakeholders including the Chief Secretary, Manipur Police Department, NCB, NAB, Forest Department, MARSAC, and Forensic Science, the gathering underscored the government’s unwavering resolve to eradicate illegal poppy cultivation.

Expressing his unwavering stance on the matter, Chief Minister N Biren Singh emphasized the imperative of coordinated efforts and collaborative measures to effectively combat the drug menace. The state government remains steadfast in its commitment to completely uproot the scourge of drug cultivation from Manipur, ensuring a safer and more secure environment for all its residents.
