Manipur Cabinet Approves Loktak Wetlands Management Plan

Northeast Desk, 13th July: In a significant move to conserve and manage the Loktak Wetlands, the Manipur Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister N Biren Singh, approved an integrated management plan today. The meeting was held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh shared the outcomes of the cabinet meeting through a series of posts on the microblogging site X. “Chaired a Cabinet Meeting at my Secretariat, today. Various agendas were deliberated including the transfer policies for VDF, Manipur Private School Regulation Act,” Singh wrote.

The approved plan aims to sustainably manage the vital wetland ecosystem, ensuring its conservation for future generations. Additionally, the state Assembly session has been scheduled to convene on July 31, 2024.

The BJP-led NDA Government in Manipur emphasized unity among all ruling MLAs to restore peace in the state. “We have resolved to jointly take measures to address the core issues and further implement the steps to resolve them so that lasting peace can be ensured,” Singh stated.
