Manipur Chief Minister and BJP President Take Action Amid Ongoing Ethnic Strife
Northeast Desk, 28th June: Chief Minister Biren Singh convened a crucial meeting with ruling MLAs to address the current volatile situation in Manipur. The discussion focused on strategies to restore peace and stability in the ethnic strife-hit state.
Simultaneously, BJP’s Manipur president A Sharda Devi met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Thursday. The meeting centered on the urgent need for a permanent solution and tranquility in the region.
“Met Hon’ble Home Minister, Mananiya Shri @AmitShah ji, for an extensive discussion on the current situation in Manipur. Conveyed the people’s aspirations and urged immediate attention to bring permanent solution and tranquillity to the state, while appreciating the ongoing efforts,” Devi posted on X.
She also emphasized the necessity of resettling internally displaced persons (IDPs) and providing comprehensive support for their rehabilitation. Devi expressed confidence in the Centre’s awareness of the delicate situation and its commitment to addressing the people’s needs.
The ethnic violence in Manipur, which has claimed over 200 lives and left thousands homeless, continues to be a critical issue requiring immediate intervention and resolution.
