Manipur Chief Minister Condemns Violent Attack, Calls for Peaceful Resolution

Northeast Desk, 30th December: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh strongly condemned the recent violent attack on a village volunteer in the Imphal West district.

During a press conference on December 30, he expressed concern over the incident and stated that a few elements with malicious intentions were attempting to disrupt the peace in the state.

Singh assured that the case is under investigation, and combing operations are actively ongoing. While acknowledging the efforts of civil societies, Meira Paibis, and various organizations in restoring peace, he emphasized the need for negotiation, dialogue, and amicable resolutions to address issues and bring about lasting peace in Manipur.

The unfortunate incident involved the killing of a 35-year-old village volunteer, Jamesbond Ningombam, by suspected Kuki armed militants.

The attack occurred in the early hours of December 30, shaking the region and prompting calls for a peaceful resolution to prevent further unrest.

The Chief Minister urged collective efforts to find common ground and maintain harmony in the state.
