Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh Reaffirms Commitment to Combat Drug Abuse

Northeast Desk, 26th June: In a significant stride towards eradicating drug abuse in Manipur, Chief Minister N Biren Singh has highlighted the state’s unwavering efforts in battling narcotics. Addressing the public, Singh stated, “Manipur has been deeply affected by drug abuse, but our persistent efforts are beginning to yield results. The prevalence of illicit drug use is on the decline. I urge the younger generation to steer clear of these harmful substances that jeopardize our future.”

Demonstrating his commitment to the cause, Chief Minister Singh inaugurated a motorbike rally organized by the Manipur Police under the leadership of the Director General of Police (DGP). This event, held in observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, aims to raise awareness about the dangers of drug use and reinforce the state’s dedication to eradicating this menace.

The motorbike rally is part of a broader initiative to educate the public and especially the youth about the harmful effects of drug abuse, encouraging a healthier and drug-free lifestyle. The rally saw enthusiastic participation, symbolizing the collective resolve of the community and law enforcement to combat the drug crisis.
