Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has condemned the recent killing of two laborers from Bihar, calling the incident deeply disturbing and vowing to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Speaking to the media, Singh confirmed that seven individuals have been detained in connection with the attack. “Interrogations are underway to ascertain their involvement,” he said, underscoring the administration’s commitment to ensuring justice for the victims.
The Chief Minister suggested that the killings might have been politically motivated, hinting at potential underlying tensions contributing to the violence. While not elaborating further, Singh assured the public that the government is resolute in its efforts to investigate the case thoroughly and take stringent action against those found responsible.
The tragic deaths of Dasharat Kumar (17) and Sunalal Kumar (18), laborers from Bihar, have sparked widespread condemnation. The two victims were attacked in Kakching district while cycling home from work, a chilling act that Singh described as an affront to peace and security in the state.
