Manipur CM N Biren Singh Appeals for Integrity in Police Transfers, Reviews Police Infrastructure
Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has urged families of newly recruited police personnel to refrain from seeking political intervention in matters of transfers and postings.
“We should allow the young and fresh recruits to serve their State and Nation according to the transfer posting policy of the government,” he said, emphasizing the need to maintain the transparency and integrity of the police department.
The Chief Minister made these remarks during an inspection of the Manipur Police Firing Range at Wairi Pangei, Imphal, where he also reviewed the construction of temporary barracks for the newly inducted recruits.
Highlighting recent developments, CM Singh revealed that 1,946 recruits for the 10th and 11th Indian Reserve Battalions (IRB) had recently completed their training at an academy in Assam. He stated that these battalions were raised specifically for highway protection duties.
Given the state’s current challenges and the dedication exhibited by the recruits, the government has constructed temporary barracks to station 800–1,000 recruits. These personnel will undergo additional special commando training to form rapid-response teams capable of handling any law-and-order contingencies.
The initiative underscores the state government’s commitment to strengthening law enforcement and addressing emerging challenges effectively.
