Manipur CM N. Biren Singh Dismisses Rumors of Government Instability Amid Circulating Letter
Imphal: Chief Minister N. Biren Singh addressed concerns regarding the stability of his government, firmly stating there is no indication of a breakdown despite recent rumors fueled by a purported letter circulating on social media.
The statement was made in response to queries during a press conference held at his secretariat earlier today.
Responding to questions from the media about the letter, which allegedly shows 19 BJP MLAs requesting a change in leadership, CM Biren Singh clarified that the situation has not impacted the government’s stability.
He downplayed the significance of the letter, suggesting it may have been a memorandum submitted long ago when some legislators attempted to meet central BJP leaders.
“Changing or not changing the chief minister’s post is not my concern,” Singh stated, emphasizing that there are no conditions that suggest a breakdown of the BJP government in Manipur. He reiterated that the government remains united and committed to serving the people.
The Chief Minister further elaborated that, as Manipur is a democratic state, everyone has the right to express their opinions freely. “Let anyone say what they want, but the government continues to work for the welfare of the people. What the government does will be seen as guided by the people and by divine blessings,” he remarked, underscoring his administration’s ongoing efforts to maintain stability and public service.
