Manipur CM N Biren Singh Highlights Role of Sports in Nation-Building on National Sports Day
Northeast Desk, 29th August: On the occasion of National Sports Day, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh extended his heartfelt wishes to athletes, coaches, and sports enthusiasts across the country. In his message, Singh emphasized the vital role that sports play in character building and fostering unity among people. He also underscored the importance of providing adequate support and encouragement to emerging sports talent in India.
“Sports not only build character and discipline but also foster cohesion, resilience, and a sense of community,” Singh stated. He called on the nation to renew its commitment to supporting athletes as they strive for excellence.
Singh paid tribute to the legendary Major Dhyan Chand, whose contributions to Indian hockey continue to inspire generations. “Let us honor the great legacy of Major Dhyan Chand and celebrate the inspirational achievements of our athletes,” he added.
