Manipur CM N Biren Singh Praises Indigenous Wrestling Promotion Through Khelo India Scheme

Manipur: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh expressed his satisfaction today over the ongoing promotion of Indigenous Wrestling in Senapati, crediting the Khelo India Scheme for its role in providing training and resources to aspiring wrestlers. Singh emphasized the positive impact the initiative is having on local youth.

“The promotion of Indigenous Wrestling is in full swing, with dedicated training sessions being conducted for our talented youths,” Singh said, highlighting the establishment of necessary infrastructure and facilities to nurture these athletes.

He further stressed the value of sports and fitness in cultivating team spirit, strategic thinking, leadership, and goal setting, noting that a fit individual contributes to a healthy society and a stronger nation.

The Khelo India programme, a government initiative, aims to revive grassroots sports and create a robust framework for all sports in the country, with the goal of positioning India as a global sporting powerhouse.
