Manipur: Combined Forces Neutralize Armed Miscreants, Secure Strategic Areas in Imphal East District

Imphal: In a major counter-insurgency operation, combined security forces, including the Army, BSF, CRPF, and State Police, conducted extensive combing and search operations across multiple locations in Imphal East District.

The operations, which began on December 28, targeted key areas such as Sabungkhok Khunou, Shantikhongbal, Thamnapokpi, Sanasabi, Uyok Ching, and Natum Ching, along with regions bordering Thamnapokpi and Sanasabi villages. Security forces successfully neutralized and drove out all armed miscreants from these areas, marking a significant achievement in restoring stability.

As part of the operations, four illegal bunkers were destroyed, and three others were secured and brought under the control of the combined forces. Strategic locations, including the dominating heights of Uyok Ching, have been fortified to ensure sustained security and prevent further insurgent activities in both the valley and hill areas.

The operation underscores the commitment of security forces to dismantle militant infrastructure and establish long-term peace in the region. Authorities have reiterated their vigilance in maintaining control over these strategic points and ensuring the safety of local residents.
