Manipur Congress Rallies in Support of Armed Forces Amidst Rising Terror Concerns

Imphal: Imphal witnessed a surge of patriotic fervor as the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) organized a significant Tiranga Yatra, a demonstration of unwavering solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces. This rally, spanning approximately four kilometers, served as a powerful gesture of support in the wake of recent terror incidents that have shaken the nation, notably the April 22 attack in Pahalgam, which was claimed by the Pakistan-based terror outfit, Lashkar-e-Taiba.

The procession, commencing and concluding at the Congress Bhavan, traced a symbolic route through North AOC, drawing a diverse crowd of party workers and concerned citizens. Leading the charge were prominent figures within the MPCC, including former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, AICC member Gaikhangam, MPCC President Keisham Meghachandra, and former MP Thokchom Meinya. The air resonated with the waving of the national flag, a visual representation of unity and collective resolve.

Addressing the assembled media, Okram Ibobi Singh articulated that the Tiranga Yatra was conducted under the express directives of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), designed to unequivocally reaffirm the party’s support for India’s armed forces, particularly those engaged in Operation Sindoor. He stressed the Congress party’s unequivocal condemnation of terrorism, advocating for decisive and robust action against terror networks that threaten national security.

Ibobi Singh further reiterated the party’s unwavering stance against terrorism, emphasizing the critical importance of national unity during these challenging times. The event, characterized by disciplined participation and fervent patriotic slogans, delivered a powerful message of national resilience and unwavering support for the nation’s defenders.
