Manipur: CRPF IG Expresses Grief Over Attack in Bishnupur; Vows Justice
Northeast Desk, 28th April: The Inspector General of CRPF, Akhilesh Prasad Singh, expressed profound sorrow over the tragic incident in Imphal, Manipur, where two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel lost their lives in an attack by armed militants on their outpost on April 27.
Singh disclosed that a significant number of CRPF personnel had been stationed in the area for the past year, fulfilling various duties. This marked the first assault on their remote camp. He pledged to identify the assailants swiftly and ensure they face justice.
Addressing the media, CRPF IG Akhilesh Prasad Singh remarked, “There are few people who harbor such anti-national or anti-social sentiments. Most individuals are law-abiding citizens who do not condone such violence. It is my hope that gradually even those with extremist ideologies will recognize the futility of their actions and integrate into mainstream society…Regarding weapons, they possess various types, some locally made, some acquired from outside, and some obtained through theft…”
Meanwhile, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh condemned the attack on Indian security forces, resulting in the tragic demise of two CRPF personnel in the Naransena region of Bishnupur district.
Singh characterized the assault as an act of cowardice against dedicated security personnel striving to maintain peace and stability in the state. He assured that the sacrifice of these brave individuals would be honored and remembered.
In a social media post, Chief Minister Biren Singh reiterated his condemnation of the assault, emphasizing that such actions demonstrate cowardice against security forces committed to safeguarding peace in the region. He affirmed that the sacrifices made by these valiant personnel will not be forgotten.
