Manipur: Fire destroys abandoned houses in Imphal East

Northeast, 5th Jan: In a distressing incident on the night of January 4, at least two houses in Manipur’s Imphal East were engulfed in flames around 9:30 PM.

The incident occurred at New Checkon of the district.

Sources suggest that the fire, suspected to have originated from a short circuit, rapidly spread, posing a threat to adjacent properties.

Immediate action by the Fire Services averted further escalation as fire brigades rushed to the scene to douse the inferno.

The Fire Services successfully brought the situation under control, preventing the fire from spreading to nearby structures.

The incident highlights the crucial role of emergency responders in mitigating potential disasters and safeguarding communities from significant damage.
