Manipur Government Digitizes 67 Years of Gazette Copies, Including Land and Forest Records

Northeast Desk, 26th February: In a groundbreaking move, Manipur’s government has completed the digitization of gazette copies, including crucial land and forest records spanning the last 67 years.

This monumental achievement marks a historic event as the Directorate of Printing and Stationery, Manipur, embarked on a transformative journey to digitize old gazettes dating back to 1950. With 31,316 gazettes comprising 1,16,147 pages, ranging from Gazette No. 18 dated January 18, 1950, to March 2017, successfully digitized, the state government aims to preserve invaluable historical accounts and records for future generations.

This milestone not only aids in preventing controversies surrounding historical facts and data but also signifies the end of issues arising from the absence of records.

Chief Minister Biren Singh expressed heartfelt appreciation to all involved, emphasizing their dedication and hard work in achieving this significant feat, which will undoubtedly serve as a cornerstone in safeguarding Manipur’s historical heritage.
