Manipur Government Honors Assam Police Officials for Training Contributions

Imphal: The Manipur government recognized nine senior Assam Police officials, including Director General of Police (DGP) Gyanendra Pratap Singh, for their pivotal role in training Manipur Police recruits at the Dergaon training facility in Assam.

The honors were conferred during the Statehood Day celebrations on January 21 at the 1st MR Parade Ground in Imphal.

Among the recipients were three high-ranking IPS officers: DGP Gyanendra Pratap Singh, Special DGP Harmeet Singh, and IGP Akhilesh Kumar Singh.

These officers, along with others who manage and oversee police training at Dergaon, were acknowledged with police medals and commendations for their efforts in enhancing inter-state police collaboration across the Northeast.

Special recognition was given to Brigadier (Retd) Charandeep Singh, who serves as Special DIG Training, as well as three Commandants of the LBPA Dergaon—Abdel Quadir Arief, SA Samad Hussain, and Gourav Kumar Agarwal.

Their contributions to developing professional and effective law enforcement personnel were highlighted as instrumental in strengthening the bonds between Manipur and Assam police forces.

Expressing his gratitude on Twitter, DGP Singh stated, “Such an absolute privilege for Assam Police to be recognised for its training capabilities by North-Eastern Sister State Government. Compliments to all officers and personnel associated with the training.”

The ceremony underscores the growing emphasis on regional cooperation in law enforcement and professional development. It builds upon the existing training partnerships between Manipur and Assam, reflecting a shared commitment to fostering stronger and more cohesive policing in the Northeast region.
