Manipur Government Observes Gandhi Jayanti with Swachh Bharat Mission Event
Northeast Desk, 2nd October: The Manipur government commemorated the 155th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi by organizing a special event focused on the Swachh Bharat Mission at the Gandhi Memorial Hall. Chief Minister N Biren Singh, accompanied by ministers, MLAs, and senior officials, paid tribute to the iconic leader by garlanding his statue during the ceremony.
In his address, CM Biren Singh extended his heartfelt wishes to the people of Manipur and urged them to embrace the values of non-violence and *cleanliness, principles that Mahatma Gandhi championed throughout his life. The event underscored the importance of continuing Gandhi’s legacy through the *Swachh Bharat Mission, which aims to promote cleanliness and hygiene across India.
