Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla to Work from State Secretariat Amid President’s Rule
Imphal: Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla will operate from the state secretariat in Imphal three days a week, signaling a move to ensure administrative stability following the imposition of President’s Rule.
Official sources confirmed that he will work from the office previously used by the Minister of Education, while a separate ministerial office will be allocated to his advisers.
The development comes after the General Administration Department closed all ministerial offices at both the old and new secretariats following the imposition of President’s Rule on February 13.
The decision to dissolve the state government followed a period of political turmoil triggered by the resignation of N. Biren Singh as Chief Minister.
Governor Bhalla’s presence at the secretariat is seen as a step toward maintaining governance and overseeing administrative functions during the political transition.
His direct engagement with state affairs is expected to facilitate smoother coordination between the bureaucracy and central authorities in managing Manipur’s governance.
